Louisiana Gold® Nugget Hushpuppies
Vegetable oil
1/2 cup milk
1 1/4 cups yellow corn meal
1/2 cup whole kernel corn
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup sliced green onions |
pinch of salt
2 tablespoons Louisiana Gold Hot Sauce
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 small onion finely diced
1 beaten egg
1 teaspoon baking powder |
Heat oil in deep cast iron pot to 350 degrees F. Combine corn meal, flour, baking powder, salt and pepper in a
large bowl. Add diced onions, egg, milk, corn, green onions, and hot sauce. Mix well. Batter should be smooth and
lump free. When oil is hot, spoon in hushpuppies using a tablespoon. |
