Cajun King BBQ Shrimp

The rich taste of butter and olive oil combined with our own BBQ shrimp seasoning turn ordinary shrimp into the best part of any meal.
    2 1/2 lbs  Headless Shrimp, with shells
  • 2 tbsp  Black Pepper1 lb  Butter or Margarine
  • 1/4 cup  Olive Oil
  • 1 pkg  Cajun King Barbecue Shrimp Seasoning Mix
  • 1 tsp  salt

  1. Leave shells on shrimp.
  2. Wash shrimp in cold water, draining well.
  3. Conventional Oven Directions:
  4. Melt butter with olive oil.
  5. Simmer over low heat; slowly blend in seasoning mix.
  6. Simmer 5 minutes; remove from heat.
  7. Pour sauce over shrimp proportionately.
  8. Bake in 400 degrees oven for 20-25 minutes, basting and turning several times.
  9. After 10-15 minutes, sample shrimp to determine when fully cooked.
  10. Salt to taste.
  11. Microwave Directions:
  12. Melt butter with olive oil on high setting.
  13. Blend in seasoning mix.
  14. Microwave mixture for 5 minutes on medium setting ( 3 minutes on high).
  15. Pour sauce over shrimp.
  16. Set power level on high and cook covered for 3-5 minutes, basting and turning shrimp over in sauce every 3 minutes.
  17. Sample shrimp to determine when fully cooked.
  18. Salt to taste.
  19. Divide shrimp amoung several baking dishes roughly one layer thick.
  20. Heavily sprinkle black pepper over shrimp in shells until black pepper covers most of the shells.
  21. This will seem to be an excessive amount of pepper - yet the procedure is correct.
